LSU @ Alabama (7:00 p.m. – CBS)
It should come as no surprise to anyone that this week’s Game of the Week is LSU at Alabama. People have been counting down to this game for weeks, and now it’s almost here! This game has been talked about ad nauseam for the past two weeks, so I won’t rehash all of the statistics for you. (If you haven’t seen those yet though and are interested, click here or here or here.) Everyone knows both defenses can play lights out, so to me, this game is going to come down to two things: quarterback performance and offensive lines. Neither team has a faced a defense even close to what they’ll see this Saturday night, so it will be interesting to see if the QBs and O-lines can hold up such stout defenses. Can Bama’s offensive line create holes for Trent Richardson? Will LSU’s dual quarterback system wear down the Bama defense? Only time will tell. If you want a more technical breakdown of the game, here’s everything you need to know.
And here’s a fun fact for you: Alabama is 1-5 when ESPN’s College GameDay visits Tuscaloosa, the only win coming from a Penn State match-up in 2010.
